Following the release of his first full-length album Indigo, BTS‘s RM has been working hard promoting solo. Because he’s spent years focused on group promotions, he’s been open about how different it is to promote alone.
Appeared in KBS News to discuss his album, reporters asked RM if he had more freedom when promoting as a solo artist.
You released a solo album, and recently, you gave a small concert as well. You must be busy, but compared to your time as BTS, relatively speaking, do you feel like you have any leeway or something?

RM confirmed that he does have a little more freedom, in a sense, but that it comes at a cost. He pointed out, “Relatively speaking, I have some leeway, but it feels like things are getting more intense.”
Since the focus is only on RM, all responsibilities fall on him. He explained, “Usually when we perform together as a group, my share is only 1/7. But now that I’m doing it all myself, it’s so dense and intense.”
RM emphasized how hard it is without anyone to rely on,”I have to do a lot of things on my own, so I feel like things are getting more intense.”
Due to RM’s dedication, not only has his hard work paid off with an album he is proud of, but fans are also enjoying a new side of him.
